Tour to Chefchaouen & Imperial cities from Tangier 5 days

Day 1: Arrival Tangier

Spend the day exploring Tangier, the enigmatic port city. Situated just across the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain, Tangier captivates visitors with attractions like the Kasbah, Cap Spartel, and the Heracles Caves. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Tangier.

Day 2: Tanger – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

There are two ways to reach Tetouan and its UNESCO-listed Medina: you can take the direct inland route or opt for the scenic Cape Malabata coastal road, which leads to Ceuta and provides stunning views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Rif mountains meeting the Mediterranean’s deep blue waters (an additional 40 km). This route then ascends into the Rif mountains, passing through picturesque countryside before arriving at the enchanting blue city of Chefchaouen.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes

In the morning, stroll through the enchanting indigo-blue streets of this charming Rif city before setting off for Fez. Along the way, we’ll stop at Meknes, Morocco’s third imperial city, known for its impressive 40 km of walls. In Meknes, we’ll visit its key landmarks, including the Bab El Mansour gate, the Bab Lakhmiss gate, the royal stables, and the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Afterward, we’ll head to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis to explore this historic site before continuing to Fez for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Fes Guided City Tour

Spend the day exploring Fes, beginning with a guided tour of its ancient medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Start with the Al Quaraouiyine University, the world’s oldest continually operating university, and admire its impressive architecture. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, known for its intricate tilework and carvings. Wander through the bustling souks, and see the traditional Nejjarine Fountain. Experience the tanneries, where you can observe the traditional leather-dyeing process. In the afternoon, explore the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) and visit the Royal Palace (exterior). Conclude your day with a relaxing dinner in a traditional Moroccan riad, soaking in the rich culture and history of Fes.

Day 5: Departure

Transfer to Fez airport or Tangier airport.
